Vintage Sadler England Gold Lustre Tea Set – 3 Piece

A fabulous vintage Sadler tea set, made in England and dating to around the 1950s–60s.

This striking three-piece set has a warm cream body decorated with broad bands of textured gold lustre, fine gold lines and beautifully gilded handles. The teapot is finished with a fluted gold finial, giving the whole set that wonderfully glamorous mid-century look.

The teapot was made for traditional loose-leaf tea and has a series of small holes where the body meets the spout, helping to prevent larger tea leaves from travelling into the spout when pouring.

The set carries the Sadler – Made in England backstamp. James Sadler & Sons was a long-established English pottery particularly well known for its teapots and decorative teaware.

A beautiful survivor from an era when bringing out the good tea set really was an occasion. The gold lustre catches the light beautifully and makes this an especially lovely display set for a vintage kitchen, china cabinet or tea collection.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with use and age.

There is visible crazing to the glaze and some wear to the gold decoration. The interior and rims show signs of previous use. No major damage is apparent in the photographs provided.
