Description:

A wonderfully bold mid-century ceramic tiger, hand-painted in the classic 1950s Japanese export style with glossy glaze and dramatic striping. These charming figures were popular souvenirs in the postwar decades and are now treasured by collectors for their cheerful expression and personality. A perfect statement piece for retro, tiki or eclectic interiors.

Styling Tips:

• Style with books or teak for a rich mid-century vignette

• Adds personality to a bar cart or entryway shelf

• Pairs beautifully with rattan, cane and safari-inspired decor

• A fun accent piece for a child’s jungle-themed room

Deb’s Note:

“I always have a soft spot for these early Japanese figurines — each one is hand-painted with its own little character, and this fellow is particularly full of charm. He has such a confident stance, as though he’s guarding a tiny treasure.”
