c. 1950s – 1970s
Description:
A beautiful all-glass stovetop percolator from the beloved Pyrex Flameware series — one of the most iconic and enduring Pyrex designs. Originally developed in the 1940s and 50s, these all-glass coffee makers remained in production right through the early 1970s.
Designed for brewing directly over a flame (with diffuser), this later Type 9 version features the detachable metal band and original glass stem and filter basket. Everything that touches the water is glass — for a pure, clean brew without plastic or metal.
Crystal-clear body with subtle swirl moulding to the lid and base. A timeless piece for coffee lovers, slow-living kitchens, cabins or country homes, and collectors of classic Pyrex.
Measurements:
Approx. 19 cm high × 18 cm across (including handle)
Standard 6–8 cup capacity
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition — no chips or cracks. Light surface scuffing from gentle use (typical for Flameware). Fully intact percolator assembly.
Styling / Usage Notes:
• Perfect for a plastic-free kitchen
• Makes a slow, gentle brew with no metallic taste
• Beautiful as a display piece for the coffee station
• A favourite with retro campers and homesteaders
Deb’s Note:
There’s something wonderfully calming about coffee that doesn’t rush. These Pyrex percolators feel like morning ritual meets heirloom kitchenware — a quiet moment before the day begins.
