Description
A beautiful example of Victorian shooting equipment, this pressed brass gunpowder flask features a classic shell motif and retains its original dispensing nozzle.
Used in the era of muzzle-loading firearms, flasks such as this carried and measured black powder, allowing for consistent and efficient loading in the field. The adjustable top mechanism dispenses a set quantity of powder — a small but ingenious piece of 19th century engineering.
The softly worn brass and aged patina speak to years of handling, giving this piece both character and authenticity.
Today, it stands as a striking decorative object — equally at home in a study, library, or alongside other early utilitarian tools.
