A rare and heart-melting Steiff pair — a beautifully made mother Jocko chimpanzee and her baby, purchased new in the 1950s and kept by the same original owner until now.
Steiff, the legendary German maker behind the world’s most collectable teddy bears, also produced an exquisite menagerie of animals. Their Jocko chimpanzees are particularly prized for their gentle faces, expressive glass eyes, stitched features, soft plush fur, and those unmistakable Steiff hands and feet.
This mother-and-child duo has stayed together for more than seventy years. The baby still tucks neatly into her mother’s arms, just as Steiff designed — a pairing rarely found intact.
A warm, soulful piece for collectors, nurseries, playrooms, or anyone who loves vintage toys with history and heart.
