Known for their polished blend of soft rock, soul, and progressive influences, Sad Café enjoyed a string of late-70s and early-80s hits. This debut features tracks like “Run Home Girl,” “Black Rose,” and “No Place to Go,” showcasing their smooth production and strong vocals by Paul Young (later of Mike + The Mechanics).
The album’s striking surrealist cover art was created by Hipgnosis, the legendary design studio behind iconic sleeves for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Genesis.
