Only light wear and gold edge is mostly intact

The Chintz pattern of Marguerite with it's pattern of white daisies, yellow and cerise flowers and sprays of bluebells set against a beige background with the rim of the ware edged in dark blue or gold, was first introduced in 1928. Leonard Grimwades daughter Janet was told that the design was taken from a cushion cover being embroidered by her mother. It was to prove an instant success and was subsequently used in tableware, after first being used on toilet ware.
