Royal Winton “A” Series Hand-Painted Small Gravy Boat with Underplate (1930s–40s)

A beautifully aged piece of English pottery by Royal Winton, featuring a pastoral farm scene — horses, haystacks, a fence-line, and a farmer going about his day.

The glaze has developed a rich, even cracklethroughout, giving it all that warm, timeworn charm we love in early 20th-century ceramics.

The set includes both the gravy boat and its matching underplate, with the original gilding still looking lovely. Some age toning and staining to the interior (as shown), but structurally good and still displays beautifully.

There’s something so comforting about these old pastoral scenes — horses, hay, the soft golden glaze. It feels like a painting you can hold in your hands. A sweet little piece for the dresser, the table, or tucked on a kitchen shelf.
