A beautifully aged early Spode blue and white dish, produced in Staffordshire in the mid-19th century and bearing the impressed SPODE mark to the reverse.
Decorated in a classic chinoiserie landscape with birds, pagodas, and flowing water, this piece carries all the romance of early English transferware. The form is gently shaped, with deep cobalt tones softened by time.
This dish shows notable rim chips and edge losses, consistent with its age and use. These have been carefully photographed and are fully reflected in the price. While no longer suited to food service, it makes a wonderful decorative object — ideal for wall display, shelf styling, or layered among books and ceramics.
A genuine early Spode piece with honest wear and strong presence.
