For vintage toy collectors and nostalgia fans alike,
A bright and charming mid-century tinplate train set, made in Western Germany by Distler — one of the great names in post-war toy making. This delightful set includes the working wind-up engine, original tin track, two lithographed carriages, and the original box with fantastic retro artwork.
The engine still winds and runs beautifully (a tiny miracle for its age!), though the carriages have lost their wheels over time and now make excellent display pieces. The box shows age and wear but remains wonderfully graphic — perfect for styling in a vintage children’s room, toy shelf, or railway-themed nook.
A lovely collectible for tin toy fans, nostalgia-seekers, and anyone who loves the old-world charm of clockwork toys.
Deb’s Note
I’m always delighted when these little tin treasures arrive — they just don’t make toys like this anymore. Even with their few bumps and scrapes, the colour and character are unbeatable.
