A beautifully sculpted Art Deco Beswick Ware centrepiece vase, shaped as a stylised basket with sweeping handles and textured glaze. Finished in warm peachy orange with softly brushed pastel tones of pink, blue and sage green — classic colours from Beswick’s 1930s Art Deco palette.
This is Model No. 475, made in England by Beswick Pottery (Staffordshire), c.1933–1939. Designed to be used as a floral arranger or fruit display, it now makes a charming decorative statement piece for kitchen tables, sideboards, or styled shelf vignettes.
Beautifully preserved with a warm, time-softened glaze, this piece still carries its original hand-painted markings and impressed registration numbers underneath.
Condition
Excellent for age — no chips, cracks or repairs. Expected light crazing, consistent with original Beswick finishes of this era.
Dimensions
Width: 27 cm
Depth: 14 cm
Height: 14 cm
Deb’s Note:
I always picture this piece full of pale hydrangeas or peaches from a summer kitchen — Art Deco elegance, but softened by English garden colours. Practical, yet poetic.
