A striking zig-zag vase by Beswick, England — Shape 746 — designed in the late 1930s to early 1940s, during the transition from Art Deco to mid-century styling. Its bold stepped silhouette and angular geometry are classic Art Deco features, while the soft satin apricot glaze with lichen mottling hints at the gentler tones of post-war ceramics.
Perfect as a sculptural display piece, planter, or centrepiece on a sideboard, console or mantle. A beautiful example of British ceramics balancing architecture and artistry.
