Art Deco Australiana koala wall pocket in SylvaC type colourway c.1930s-40s
Art Deco Australiana koala wall pocket in SylvaC type colourway c.1930s-40s
This lovely and extremely rare Australiana koala wall pocket in a very desirable colour way is sure to be a hit with any ceramics, midcentury and Australiana collector.
Koala wall pocket vases are among the most collectible when it comes to wall pocket vases, with nearly all production ceasing during WWII in the 1940s. This particular one is a beautiful green, clearly SylvaC-inspired colourway.
This was most likely produced in Australia circa 1930s to early 1940s, possibly by Pates. Truly a lovely and still very practical piece; wall vases are a lovely way to hold flowers, air plants, or even to be used as a letter holder.
In good vintage condition except for a tiny missing bit of Color at top back, which may be a production fault
