Antique Mappin & Webb Carving Set in Original Case – Stag Antler Handles – Victorian / Edwardian

A beautiful antique carving set by celebrated English makers Mappin & Webb, presented in its original fitted case with deep blue velvet lining and original gold maker’s stamp still intact inside the lid.

This handsome late Victorian to Edwardian-era set includes:

• Large carving knife

• Smaller carving knife

• Carving fork

• Sharpening steel

The handles are crafted from genuine stag antler with ornate silver plated mounts and decorative end caps, while the blades are marked “Mappin & Webb” and “Trustworthy.” The fitted case itself is wonderfully atmospheric and makes the set just as display-worthy as it is practical.

These were once treasured dining-room pieces — brought out for roasts, Christmas lunches, and formal family gatherings when carving at the table was part of the occasion itself.

One small fork appears to be missing from the original set, and there is age-related wear, patina, and marking to the steel consistent with genuine antique use. The case also shows gentle wear commensurate with age.
