A rare antique commemorative plate made to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandrain 1902. The coronation was held at Westminster Abbey, London, on 9 August 1902, after being postponed from June due to the King’s sudden illness and surgery.
This plate is a fine example of early 20th-century royal memorabilia, featuring the inscription “Unity is Strength”, and is slightly different in design from many of the more common coronation plates produced at the time — making it a wonderful collector’s piece.
