This matched pair of antique candlesticks dates to the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, around 1900, and is made from cast brass or bronze-based metal with a beautifully aged surface.
Each candlestick features elegant scrolling arms, ribbed candle cups, and wide decorative bases that give them both stability and visual weight. The original surface shows a rich patina with areas of verdigris and wear, giving them a wonderfully atmospheric, timeworn look.
Pieces like these would once have lit dining tables and sideboards in homes before electric lighting became commonplace.
They are sold as a matching pair.
