1965 Australian Military Machete & Sheath – MA65 Issue with Sharpening Stone

A genuine mid-century Australian military machete set, dated 1965, complete with its original sheath and integrated sharpening stone — a practical, well-used piece with real field history.

Stamped “MA65” to the handle (Military Australia, 1965), this machete reflects standard issue equipment from the Vietnam-era period. The timber grip is solid and comfortable in the hand, secured with rivets, and shows honest wear consistent with use.

The original sheath is included and retains its built-in sharpening stone, still housed in the front pocket — a wonderful survival detail that adds both function and collectability.

Of particular note, the handle appears to show a faint broad arrow marking, the traditional British/Commonwealth military ownership symbol. While worn and not fully defined, it adds an extra layer of authenticity and interest to the piece.
