A charming mid-century hard plastic doll dressed in her original layered lace gown with a satin sash and a wonderfully quirky cone-shaped formal hat — a style typical of 1950s “debutante” or “cake-topper” dolls. These dolls were often gifted to girls or brides-to-be, displayed atop dressing tables or kept as keepsakes from childhood.
She retains her original hair, gown and lining, with painted facial features and molded limbs. The flat, two-piece molded feet are characteristic of 1950s manufacture (pre-Hong Kong import era), likely Australian or Japanese-made for the local market.
An evocative little survivor from the post-war domestic era — lovely as part of a vintage nursery or women’s history vignette.
