A beautiful little jug in the “Glenys” pattern by James Kent, Longton, featuring raised hand-painted florals in soft cottage hues — lilac, buttercream and rose, all glowing over a warm honey ground.
Made in the S/S POPPY shape, this is one of the more sought-after small James Kent pieces, adored for its sculptural form, embossed petals, and that gentle pre-war/post-war crazing that tells its age in the loveliest way.
At 12cm tall, it’s a perfect size for a few garden stems, a little kitchen display, or as part of a vintage pottery collection.
✨ Deb’s Note
Hand-painted cottage pottery always pulls me in — the raised petals, the soft colours, the warmth of the glaze. This one is especially sweet. A little jug with a big heart.
